Loudon's Lakeside Village
Planning On Track

- by Kate Clabough

Plans continue to advance for the upcoming Lakeside Village community in Loudon. Nestled along Watts Bar Lake, the homes in Lakeside will be designed to take full advantage of the views and amenities this area has to offer. The proposed two-story homes have deep recessed covered double verandas on front and back,  shading the houses from afternoon sun while offering open-air summer living areas.

These traditionally styled cottages offer modern features and Energy Star efficiency. They will be extremely low maintenance with cement fiber siding by Hardiplank. Traditional concrete pier foundations will eliminate moisture and mold that get trapped in enclosed crawl spaces and wreak havoc on a home’s critical base structure

Picket fences and professionally designed landscaping will add to the ambience and charm of this traditional American neighborhood. Grounds will be maintenance free and overseen by the Lakeside Village Property Owners Association with professionally maintained lawns, gardens and shrubs. The community will feature tree-lined lanes, gardens and walkways creating a resort style atmosphere. A proposed neighborhood dock facility will afford easy access to the water for both residents and guests.

Inside these beautiful homes, the floors will feature porcelain tile in kitchens, baths and entryways in addition to premium grade carpeting in other rooms throughout the home. In the kitchen, solid wood cabinetry, granite countertops and backsplashes, and top-of-the-line appliances lay the foundation for everyone’s dream kitchen. Each home will also be pre-wired for high-speed Internet access. Home plans will offer three bedrooms and three baths with one bedroom and bath on the lower level or all bedrooms on second level for flexibility.

Lakeside Village will have spectacular waterfront views in a park-like setting of nature trails and trees encouraging walking and socializing with neighbors. The community will be within easy walking distance to recreation, shopping and dining venues including historic downtown Loudon and the Lyric Theater.

Loudon is a classic Southern town laid out in the early 1800s on the banks of the Tennessee River. Located on Watts Bar Lake, it has all the components of what makes a small town great – a cohesive sense of community, the ability to walk to the corner store, a slower pace of life, recreation areas and proximity to big city amenities. It is conveniently located to West Knoxville, Farragut, Turkey Creek shopping, health care and hospital facilities. In addition, the new Loudon Senior center is located next door to Lakeside Village with daily free programs for active senior lifestyles.

Lakeside Village draws upon the principles of a traditional neighborhood development. Conceptualized around the belief that where we live influences how we live, Lakeside will be designed to provide a people-friendly environment in which lives are enriched. This exceptional neighborhood combines prime location, quality building materials and extraordinary amenities to provide the best in neighborhood design
