 When Duncan left corporate America, she wanted to find something that appealed to her creative side. After working with her friend, Sally Harrison of Chic Repeats - an upscale clothing consignment business - she decided a consignment furniture and accessory shop would fill the bill.

 “I have a background in business management and sales,” Duncan said, “and Sally encouraged me as I was exploring the options of opening my own shop.”

 In April 2003, Duncan opened A Fabulous Find. Started as a consignment shop, Duncan changed her business model at the beginning of 2006.

 “We are stocking mostly new items,” she said, “with consignments now just a small part of our business.”
