LeFevers Construction in Vonore has twenty years of experience in remodeling. Co-owner Jeff LeFevers, started working in the industry in 1981. Also known for framing, LeFevers Construction has been one of the primary framers in Tellico Village and Kahite for several years.
Husband and wife owners, Jeff and Conceya LeFevers, are both construction managers. They want to take the stress out of remodeling and handle all of the details for the homeowner. And their goal is for the remodeled area or addition to blend flawlessly with the rest of the house, not look like an addition. (Unless, of course, you would like it to have a style that is different from the rest of the house.) Though they specialize in kitchens, baths and sunrooms/screen porches, they can handle any remodeling project.
The experience of remodeling with their company is so pleasant that the LeFevers say most of their remodeling customers become lifelong friends. Conceya adds, “We offer a personal touch.” Doing little things are important to them. Recently, when a kitchen was without water or electricity for the day, Conceya brought lunch for the homeowners.
LeFevers Construction has what Jeff calls a “turnkey” approach to remodeling, handling every step from beginning to completion. The process begins with both Jeff and Conceya meeting with the homeowner in their home. They have the homeowner describe their vision for the remodeled area. Conceya’s role at this point is to visualize what the homeowners want and Jeff provides the technical expertise to make it happen.
Jeff says, they “can often help people save money in the design.” They look at the best use of materials and flow of the job and then Jeff draws the design so the homeowner can see the finished project. If there is an engineering question, they consult with an engineer who handles that aspect of the job. Then they apply for all the permits that are needed.
They also want to make the remodeling experience better than average. When the remodeling project is underway, they provide the homeowner with a schedule of what to expect day-to-day. Unlike what you may have experienced with remodeling in the past, they order and have delivery dates for all of the new items in a room before they tear out the old.
Subcontractors aren’t needed for most parts of a remodel with LeFevers Construction because they have about fifteen employees. These are experienced craftsmen with four of the employees having twenty or more years of experience and ten having at least ten years of experience. By having employees, they are able to control their remodeling work schedule. They aren’t waiting for a subcontractor to finish with another job so the homeowner isn’t waiting either. Each remodeling project flows smoothly because the electrician is ready the day the electrician is needed.
Jeff and Conceya moved from Knoxville to Vonore in 1992. Conceya says, “We’re here to stay.” They want to give back to the community they live in which is also Conceya’s hometown. One way they do this is by participating in a coop program with Sequoyah High School in Monroe County. They currently have three boys and one girl that work for them three hours a day as part of their school program. The students earn credit and are paid for their work. The boys joined them last year as juniors and worked through the summer, learning skills such as setting windows, installing house wrap and framing - skills that can earn them a job as adults.
At LeFevers Construction, the details are important. From beginning to end, their goal is for the remodeling project to move smoothly. The trim molding is perfect, the tile just so. According to Jeff LeFevers, at LeFevers Construction, they are “detail-oriented and customer-focused”.
