The Christmas tree is gone, the lights are boxed up, and the decorations put away for the year. Now your home seems ho-hum and lacks that special sparkle of the holiday season. What better time to boost your post-holiday spirits than with an accessory call from Yessick’s Design Center?
The professional interior designers at Yessick’s can turn your home from drab to fab in just two simple steps. They will start with a visit to your home and take stock of the rooms in need of a mini-makeover. Later, they will return with an assortment of accessories and bring your room back to life. You will have a new look for the New Year with just one phone call.
“Everyone’s house seems empty after Christmas,” said Laura Luallen, manager of Yessick’s Design Center of Turkey Creek. “With an accessory call, we can transform your home in one day and help you get rid of that empty home feeling.”
“It can be as simple as changing the throw pillows on your couch or rearranging your furniture,” Luallen continued. “It’s like when you add a scarf, pin or necklace to give your favorite outfit a different feel or look. You can do something similar with your rooms. January is also a great time to plan for spring window treatments and accessories.”
If you have not yet stopped by Yessick’s, be sure to do so regularly to see the latest in interior design.
“We change things up about everything three months to keep things fresh in the store,” said Luallen, “sort of seasonal.”
Luallen, a Knoxville native, offers twenty years of experience in residential, commercial and hospitality design. This enables her to draw on both real-life experience and infinite designing resources. Her philosophy is to create a space that reflects her clients’ tastes and not just her own preferences.
“From designing for multi-million dollar homes to a simple window treatment, from national corporations and hospitals to retail store planning, from hotels and restaurants to a rustic log cabin, my diverse design background allows me to find the design solution that is right for my client’s unique situation,” said Luallen. “I have found that by working with my client, not just for my client, I am able to bring to life concepts that up until that point were only dreams.”
Luallen’s first interior design job was for a Professor of design at the University of Tennessee.

“He took me under his wing and taught me to read blueprints and draft,” said Luallen. “He also showed me how to do space planning, and select furniture and fabrics.”
Although her background is diverse and includes many corporate and hospitality clients, her true love is residential design where she can work one-on-one with her clients.
“I design to meet my clients’ needs,” said Luallen. “It’s my goal to design a room that reflects their likes. That’s very satisfying to me.”
